Old town is bounded by Division street on the south, Armitage Ave. on the north, Larrrabee on the west and Clark St. on the east. It sits, nestled in the community of the Near North Side and Lincoln Park. The area north of North Ave is part of the community of Lincoln Park which includes the Old Town Triangle Historic District. The area south of North Avenue in Old Town is part of the Near North Neighborhood.
Old Town is considered by many to be an historic neighborhood. It is home to many Victorian buildings some built as far back as the 1800's. Some original brick streets and alleys still exist even after the Chicago Fire. Old Town is home to St. Michael's Church, one of 7 churches to survive the Great Chicago Fire.
It is also home to Wells St. that has many boutiques, restaurants, grocery stores, special shops, and many historical landmarks that make old town stand out from the rest. Old Town also is home to the infamous, Second City improvisation comedy club. Not to mention it is only steps away from the park, beach and more shopping and entertainment on Michigan Ave.
