The sheer amount of entertainment options available in Streeterville, whether it is shopping, dining, or a show, never ceases to amaze both resident Chicagoans and tourists. The neighborhood boasts Michigan Avenue, otherwise known as the Magnificent Mile-the most popular shopping district in the entire city. It hosts department stores, such as Bloomingdale's and Macy's, but also the individual boutiques of such designers as Louis Vuitton and Burberry. Undoubtedly the shopping highlight of the Mile is Water Tower Place, Chicago's most well known mall.
After a day of heavy shopping, it's always easy to find excellent cuisine throughout Streeterville. Family-friendly options include the international food court Foodlife in Water Tower Place, but if it's date night, then there are several reservation-required hotspots throughout the neighborhood, such as the Signature Room on the 95th floor of the John Hancock Center or Riva's seafood restaurant on Grand Avenue.
Perhaps even more famous than the Magnificent Mile is Navy Pier-one of Chicago's premier attractions. It houses the Children's Museum and Chicago's iconic ferris wheel. With carnival rides, diverse dining options, and an IMAX theater, it's hard to find an area of Chicago with more entertainment options.
Streeterville also hosts live theater, several lounges, dinner cruises, Oak Street Beach, and the Museum of Contemporary Art. It is undoubtedly a bustling neighborhood with something to offer everyone.
Streeterville is a particularly accessible neighborhood, especially in terms of driving commuters, because of the proximity of Lake Shore Drive. Also, the CTA 151 bus runs through Streeterville, and two red line stops (on Chicago and Grand along State Street) are just a few blocks outside of Streeterville.
